With its innovative Carapaxx coating, LUTZ BLADES offers the ideal solution for maximizing the service life of blades and thus making processes more efficient and economical. At the same time, the new coating is the first to do without PFAS – hazardous plastic particles that can remain in the environment for decades.
And that the longevity of tortoises – as our point of reference for the new coating – is not an empty claim is shown by a look at their impressive lifespan: the giant Galapagos tortoise Harriet was probably born in 1830 and died in 2006 at Australia Zoo in Queensland at the age of 176.

That is why we have made sure that the Carapaxx coating is particularly environmentally friendly.
To achieve this, we deliberately do not use PFAS, which is also known as the “eternal chemical”. The reason is obvious: PFAS particles remain in the environment and end up in animals and humans via water, food and air. Thanks to our innovative design, we offer an environmentally friendly alternative with the same performance, without causing problematic environmental and health consequences.
What characterizes our Carapaxx coating
Precise cuts thanks to non-stick function
Residues on blades are a critical factor for service life, efficiency and quality. Thanks to a special non-stick function, the Carapaxx coating prevents product residue from remaining on the blade when cutting.
This advantage comes into its own in pelletizing processes in particular: the frictional resistance is significantly reduced, which enables the plastics to be cut smoothly. This produces uniform pellets and, above all, minimizes possible production interruptions.
These properties also ensure that pelletizer blades with Carapaxx coating are cleaned or replaced less frequently.
Twice as durable thanks to top quality
The innovative Carapaxx coating is not enough for extremely demanding applications. That’s why we combine it with high-quality materials such as carbon steel or bimetal.
This combination proves to be unbeatable, especially for pelletizing blades. In combination with the Carapaxx coating, pellet production is much more trouble-free and therefore easier to plan. As this extends the service life of the blades, costs are reduced at the same time as production capacity increases
