From contract grinding shop to global company
Actually, age doesn’t matter at all – if you move with the times. And this is exactly what LUTZ BLADES has been doing for more than 100 years, which we would like to show you with a short threat video.
It all began in 1922 when Emmi Lutz founded a contract grinding shop in Solingen-Wald that concentrated exclusively on the manufacture of razor blades. With the increasing demand for specialized cutting solutions, the product portfolio has been continuously expanded. In the 1950s, we started producing industrial blades for various industries. And in order to expand our production facilities, we moved to Wuppertaler Strasse in Solingen-Gräfrath.
In 2020, the next logical step was taken: the move to our modern new building in the Piepersberg industrial estate in Solingen-Gräfrath. Today, we have around 13,000 square meters of space for production, storage and administration on a 25,000 square meter site. And the 175 employees working on site feel completely at home here.
We would like to show you why this is the case during a short flight: Join us on a drone tour over the Piepersberg and see how much the new LUTZ BLADES site harmonizes with our corporate philosophy and the surrounding area.
By the way:
For the video, experienced Solingen photo editor Christian Beier, who works full-time for the Solinger Tageblatt newspaper, sent his drone into the air to capture these fascinating shots.
