HARD
When producing polypropylene, calcium carbonate is often added to increase the stiffness and hardness of the material. This puts a strain on the blades during subsequent cutting operations.
In this case, the MARATHON coating ensures that the blades are resistant to wear and tear for as long as possible. A micrometer-thin hard material coating gives them high wear resistance with a very low coefficient of friction (approx. 0.1 against the reference material steel).

SHARP
As a rule, a cutting edge is not coated because it becomes rounder and loses its sharpness. Unless it is coated with the MARATHON coating. This is because it is positioned so precisely over the cutting edge that the sharpness is retained – and at the same time the hardness, rigidity and strength are optimized.

LONG LASTING
The marathon coating from LUTZ BLADES transforms blades into real long-distance runners. With this coating, for example, significantly better results are achieved than with a normal standard coating with TiN or TiAIN. Even with intensive use, MARATHON-coated blades retain their cutting performance and precision.
