Trimming blades

LYNXERA® by LUTZ BLADES

The precision-ground stainless-steel blades support clean cuts and reliable handling in histology and pathology laboratories. The long 260 mm version is suitable for large tissue samples, while the short 130 mm version enables controlled blade guidance.

Rounded blade corners contribute to improved workplace safety. Thanks to the predefined perforations, LUTZ BLADES trimming blades are compatible with standard handles.

Instructions for use for LYNXERA® brand microtome blade models

Manufacturer:
Lutz GmbH & Co. KG, Piepersberg 20, 42653 Solingen, Germany
We are a German blade manufacturer and, with more than 100 years of expertise, produce blades for the highest cutting requirements.

Intended use:
The microtome blades from LUTZ in Solingen are used as cutting tools in microtomes or cryostats to produce thin-section samples in preparation for histological examinations. They are therefore cutting-tool accessories for medical devices and are subject to, and comply with, EU regulations for in vitro diagnostics (IVD).

Instructions for use:
Blades are cutting tools and have a sharp edge. Please handle the blades—as with other cutting tools—with appropriate care. The blade dispenser provides the blades individually by operating the slider.

The sequence of pictograms shows you how to remove the blade.

Insert the blades carefully into the microtome and avoid contact between the cutting edge and components of the microtome. We recommend using hand and eye protection when using the blades. However, this is not mandatory. Act with care—as you would with other cutting tools. Please ensure the blade dispenser is stored in a dry place before and during use.

Disposal instructions:
The blades are still sharp even after use. Please dispose of the blades properly in the “Used Blades” disposal container on the underside of the dispenser or in a suitable sharps container available in your laboratory equipment.

The sequence of pictograms shows you the process of disposing of blades in the “Used Blades” container.

Technical data:
Material: High-alloy, martensitic stainless steel with a high chromium content.
Permissible temperature range during transport: —10 °C to +50 °C
Permissible operating temperature of the blade dispenser: +10 °C to +40 °C
Operating temperature of the blades in the microtome: —40 °C to +40 °C

Warranty promise:
Lynxera® brand blades are manufactured in Germany and are subject to the highest requirements for accuracy and consistent quality across the entire batch during the manufacturing process. This is the only way we can ensure process capability for your cutting task in the laboratory. We are aware of our responsibility to provide you with a cutting tool of the highest precision and sharpness. If you are not satisfied with our blades, please contact us, quoting the LOT number stated on the packaging.
